HOW AND WHEN TO USE DNADETECT JET?
The uniquely registered canisters are only issued to individuals on completion of an accredited training course. During the course users are taught about the safe, legal and practical use of the DNADetect Jet in self-defence and crime-prevention situations.
This training is specifically aimed at door supervisors, security officers, store detectives, cash-in-transit operatives, event stewards, close protection officers, community wardens, police officers and police community support officers. In fact DNADetect Jet can be used by anyone who may have to deal with a serious crime or defend themselves in the course of their duties.
On a practical level, DNADetect Jet helps front-line security operatives to,
'deter aggressive behaviour, defend potential victims and support police in detecting offenders.'
This means that once the product and what it does is known, it will firstly deter potential criminals from offending where this system is in operation. Secondly it will help defend security operatives from attack during a violent incident; and thirdly, if activated, will assist the police to detect the offender through a highly visible UV marker and a forensic DNA identifier which can be used to irrefutably link the offender to the crime scene.
When activated, DNADetect Jet will dispense a stream of forensic taggant up to 6 meters marking the offender
SO WHEN CAN DNADETECT BE USED?
DNADetect Jet can be used legally in violent confrontations (Common Law rules of self defence) or to prevent crimes (Sec.3 Section of the Criminal Law Act 1967).
